to Latest News > 2002 News Archives: 10/06/02 Autumn is Here in Boston... There's a chill in the air, the leaves are starting to turn, hot coffee is starting to make sense again and I'm spending more than 6 hours a day on my computer. Yup, my favorite time of year is here. I had a pretty great summer. Lots of good shows, a fair amount of travelling and I'm looking forward to a productive winter. There are only a few more weeks left of street performing at Quincy Market and most of my upcoming performances are private events so if you want to catch The Jim Show before it's too late, check the schedule page. And once I get my video camera working again and I find the time, there will be new videos up for your viewing pleasure. (Oh... and I may actually have some Jim products in the "Jim Store" some time in November.) Stay tuned! 8/28/02 Back from Canada... Wrapping Up the Summer I'm back home after two weeks in Canada. I had some huge shows with some great crowds. Thanks to everyone in Windsor and Waterloo. It was really nice to be back. A documentary filmmaker filmed my show at both festivals (including one in Waterloo that was the biggest crowd I've ever had) and I hope to get a copy of the footage in the next few weeks. The film he's working on is all about street performing and I'm excited to be a part of it. My summer is coming to a close and I'm happy to be changing gears for the fall. I have a lot of projects in the works, but first, a crazy Labor Day weekend lies ahead... 8/12/02 I'm taking off...to The Great White North. I'm on the road in CANADA from 8/13-8/27. See Schedule Page for more info. I'll be performing in Windsor and Waterloo, Ontario, so if you're in Windsor or Waterloo, Ontario, please stop by and say hello. And if you send me email during that time, there's about a 100% chance I won't reply until I get home, so keep that in mind if you're inquiring about a show or something. OK, eh? 7/14/02 The performing season is in full swing... whew. I've been incredibly busy working my socks off for the last couple of months and I've been having some really nice shows. Great crowds and great weather, for the most part. It's the middle of July and the "busy" (performing) season is about half over. I'm gearing up for two weeks in Canada in August and until then I'll be doing lots of local shows and of course, working Quincy Market a few nights a week. See Schedule Page for more info. See you at the show! 6/16/02 Quincy Market Schedule is up! The months of June and July have been scheduled at Quincy Market and now I have a pretty good idea of when I'll be down there. See Schedule Page. Most of the time, I'll be performing at the main "West End" of Quincy Market, in between the market and the Faneuil Hall building. There are other spots and sometimes things get shifted around, so if you don't see me, take a walk around the building and I'll be somewhere during scheduled times. 5/20/02 "Jim Show Jim" - The Theme Song! Master of the solo bass, Tom Bianchi and drummer/producer Jason Gardner have completed a song about ME... well, The Jim Show, actually. It's going to be a radio HIT for sure. And it's available for download right here. I'd love to get a few interesting re-mixes if anyone wants to go for it. Or even a few covers. Any country bands or rap artists feel like doing a version? Have fun with it. 5/20/02 Learn to juggle! Here's my latest web site project... Online juggling instruction. Now anyone with a computer, anywhere on the planet, can learn to juggle three balls with these free instructional videos. This is pretty cool. I searched the web and found lots of sites with text-based juggling lessons, but no video. So I went ahead and did it. If these videos worked for you, please let me know so I can make a big list of everyone I taught to juggle! Special thanks go to my video editing assistant David Jacobson. 5/20/02 Yes, It's Another New Web Site So this is what I did with my winter/spring. I sat in front of my Mac making web sites. (And I'm not just talking about THIS site.) Some of you may remember LAST winter when I spent the entire month of January making the 'old' web site. Well, I've done it again. I hope this one is a bit more straight forward. It's certainly more 'happier.' And there are NEW things coming. Hang tight. |
