Summer is Booking Up!
After a relatively slow spring season, my summer
and fall are really filling up (this is good.) And speaking of booking,
my old scheduling system was starting to get a bit cumbersome, so I've
launched a ~NEW~ tour calendar that should be a littler easier to browse
and follow along with. There are a couple really nice things about it...
1. It syncs directly with my desktop calendar, so I only have to add
information in one place (iCal on my Mac.) 2. It looks and feels like
a "calendar" as opposed to my old "list" of gigs
that used to be up there. I think it's pretty cool. Check it out here:

And just so you know, if you're coming down to Quincy Market, the red
dots are
my Quincy Market street performing spots. The yellow dots are my public
shows. The blue dots
are my private shows. (If you're checking my availability, the blue
dots also indicate my other unavailable days.)

Back from New Zealand!
I returned home last week from the World Buskers
Festival in Christchurch, NZ and I'd love to share a little bit about
it... First of all, I had a fantastic time. The weather was perfect
(warm, sunny and about 1 hour of rain in 18 days!) and the audiences
were spectacular. It was my first time in New Zealand and I felt right
at home just about everywhere I went. Check out some of the 450 pics
of my trip:

Before I even did a show in New Zealand,
I did a press event and wound up with a sweet! photo on page 3 of
the big city newspaper, The Press. Nice shot! (Photo by Dean Kozanic) |

My very first show in New Zealand... an
evening performance at the Christchurch Arts Center. About 1000
people packed into this quad every night, for 10 nights, to watch
6 different acts perform. These were the biggest shows of the festival.

On a day trip outside the city, the Handsome
Little Devils and I came across Kura Tawhiti, a massive assortment
of limestone outcroppings along the side of the road. It felt kind
of like Stonehenge, but all the formations were natural. (Photo

Another evening performance at the Arts
Center. These shows were tons of fun. A nice stage, warm weather,
the setting sun and a huge crowd who came to enjoy 4 hours of variety
entertainment... lovely. (Photo by Vincent Boudreau) |

My very last show in New Zealand... and
a nice way to end the festival. This show was on a Sunday afternoon
in the Christchurch Botanic Garden. (Photo sent in by Satomi Hirota.) |

After the festival, I rented a car with
fellow performer Pete Sweet and we took a whirlwind 4 day tour of
the South Island. This is Arthur's Pass. The side of every major
road looks like a LOTR movie set. Just stunning. (Photo by me.)

I got to drive on the left side of the
road for the first time in my life and it was pretty exciting. Luckily
there isn't much traffic in NZ, unless you count sheep and cows.
This is near the West coast, north of Franz Joseph Glacier. (Photo

OK, I'm not a total Lord of the Rings
nerd, but I did feel a little like Frodo here. The endless hills
of Lindis Pass in central Otago... (Photo by Pete Sweet.) |
So, yeah... if you ever have an opportunity
to visit New Zealand, you should. It's just beautiful.
I had a great little Summer vacation and now I'm back to the real world...
freezing, snowy Boston! It's OK. I have tons of things to keep me busy,
like booking gigs for 2005! Keep tuned here and there will be many gigs
on the schedule page within a couple weeks...
lots of stuff cooking! Thanks for having me, New Zealand!

Happy New Year!
It's been way too long since I updated the news
page, so I thought I'd come here and write something. Here's some interesting
news: I'm going to New Zealand from January 16 through February 5 for
the World
Buskers Festival in Christchurch. So that's pretty cool. I'll be
doing one or two shows a day and enjoying the sun (because it's Summer
there.) Ummm... not much else right now, but I'll probably have a lot
to share when I get home! Stay warm while I'm away.
